Fall EMT Refresher Course

Norton FD will be having a basic EMT refresher course held on the following dates. If you wish to attend, please contact the EMS office at 508-285-0236.

*Community CPR and AED Training*

In our effort to make Norton a Heartsafe community and to give our citizens and visitors the best chance for survival we are about to begin a collaborative effort to train the public in CPR and AED use and to increase the number of AED's in our community. This collaboration is mainly between the Norton Fire Department and Wheaton College, with additional assistance coming from The American Heart Association, The Norton School System and Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Once the school year begins we also plan to implement the program in the Norton High School to coincide with health and science classes. After this we plan to move the program into the general community.

Early CPR can more than double a victims chance for survival. However the average number of out of hospital victims that receive CPR is only 27% nationally and approximately half of that in our community.

Are goal is to train 2,000 people by this time next year and at a cost of $20.00 each we will need to purchase these kits through donations from businesses, community members and organizations

100% of donations will go directly to purchase the CPR Any Time kits. If you would like to provide us with promotional stickers or labels we would be happy to affix them to the kits purchased with your donation. Upon receiving the donation a receipt will be promptly mailed out to your organization.
